Passage MEGA EXPRESS, Bastia-Livorno (Corsica Sardinia Ferries)

The MEGA EXPRESS, built by Cantiere Navale Fratelli Orlando in Livorno, was laid down on May 25, 1999, and launched on March 25, 2000. Since April 2, 2001, it has been serving the Ajaccio - Toulon and Ajaccio - Bastia routes.

MEGA EXPRESS is part of the Corsica Ferries fleet, and its sister ship is the MEGA EXPRESS TWO. These are the only newly built vessels by Corsica Ferries.

MEGA EXPRESS is uniquely designed to function as a fast ferry during the day and a cruise ferry at night. Distinctive from older ferries, it boasts an ample number of restaurants and bars, and its distinctive slanted "Mega-Express-stern" with a striking staircase stands out.

The vessel's underwater hull is based on a bulbous bow system and a conventional stern with two screws and two rudders. It is powered by a twelve-cylinder Wärtsilä-NSD diesel engine, allowing it to reach a top speed of 29 knots (54 km/h).

With a capacity to carry 1756 passengers and 550 cars, the Mega Express guarantees a comfortable and memorable voyage.
