[How to Get a GREEN LAWN FAST] - 3 EASY TIPS for QUICK RESULTS

How to get green lawn fast is question that most homeowners ask as part of their lawn care program. In this video I discuss 3 easy tips to quickly get a green lawn. Getting fast results involves balancing watering, mowing and fertilization. There's also a bonus tip that really ties the first 3 tips together and it's not something most people think about in their lawn care DIY program.

Let's step through each of the key areas in detail so you know how to get your lawn green as fast as possible. First we'll talk about the watering required for a greener lawn. In the case of warm season grass like Bermuda, only 1 - 1.5" of water per week is needed to keep the lawn green. Watering more than that doesn't help the turf get any greener and can begin to introduce problems like fungus.

Next up is proper mowing practices. One of the most important things you can do to get a green lawn fast is to mow it regularly at the correct height with the correct mower. For a Bermuda grass lawn, that means using a reel mower to cut at a height of 5. - 1.5". You never want to remove more than 1/3 the total grass height in a mowing session or you'll do 2 things. First, you'll introduce stress into the grass which will cause it to turn brown. Second you'll expose the stalk which is already brown. In both cases improper mowing is one of the leading causes of not having green grass on your lawn.

Last up is fertilization. Grass needs adequate amounts of nitrogen and iron and iron in order to turn and stay green. How do you know how much iron and nitrogen to apply? For the answer to that, you'll have to watch to the end of the video! Be sure to comment if you have any questions.
