The southeast United States has many great hubs for railfans, including Birmingham, Atlanta, and Chattanooga. While Jackson, MS doesn't see as many trains as these places, it is unique for being at the crossroads of CN and CPKC, two Canadian-owned railroads. It is also a railfan's dream with virtually all rail traffic passing through one junction. On a particularly busy good Friday in April, we'll see 18 trains at switch tender as well as various other locations in the Jackson area, including CN and CPKC's respective yard operations. Enjoy!
