GRETSCH G2420 STREAMLINER

In 2019 Gretsch have unveiled the updated versions of their highly successful Streamliner range. This video looks at one of the originals, a 2016 G2420.

This is a hollow-bodied guitar, made from laminated maple, with a nato set neck, and a rosewood fretboard. Two Broad'Tron humbuckers are fitted, along with their own volume controls, plus master volume and master tone.

This G2420 belongs to a student of mine. It's a little unusual, in that it's fitted with 10-46 Zebras from DR Strings, because the owner wanted to use it also as an acoustic guitar. In this demo, you'll hear the guitar mic'd up as well as plugged in.

The guitar was plugged into a Tubemeister 18 from Hughes & Kettner. It was recorded direct, and a Vintage 30 2x12 speaker cab IR from Celestion was applied. A little bit of delay in front of the amp was courtesy of a Digitech DL-8.
