Bangladesh’s interim government, led by Muhammad Yunus, escorted Chinese Ambassador Yao Wen to the Teesta River project area in northern Bangladesh. The $1 billion China-backed plan involves many project but the site is alarmingly close to the Siliguri Corridor, or "Chicken's Neck"—a narrow 22-km strip of land connecting India’s mainland to its eight Northeastern states. Reports indicate India is also wary of Bangladesh's efforts to revive an old airbase at Lalmonirhat, which could potentially host a Chinese presence near the corridor.
Pakistan has been exposed for openly recruiting and training a specialized "water force" to execute sea-borne at**acks similar to the 2008 Mumbai (26/11). Intelligence reports reveal that these training camps are being disguised as "water rescue" and relief programs to evade international scrutiny and the eyes of security agencies.
External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar told his Polish counterpart that Warsaw must display "zero tolerance" for terrorism.
