The Breakaway King - what does a day in training with German Pro Triathlete Jonas Schomburg look like?
Schomburg has been training for triathlon since the age of 10 and started out with the German team before switching allegiances to Turkey as a junior and then moving back to Germany again. His travelling lifestyle also included six years living in South Africa as a youngster.
Career highlights have included winning the Under-23 Aquathlon World Championship in 2016, fifth place at the World Cup event in Weihai and tenth at the Olympic test event in Tokyo in 2019.
Having initially been coached by his father, Schomburg is now coached full time by Julien Pousson and lives in Grenoble, France, where he trains every day alongside the likes of Dorian Coninx.
