Firing Pottery in a CHARCOAL GRILL on my NYC Balcony

If you’ve ever wanted to learn how to fire pottery in your portable grill using charcoal as your fuel source, look no further than this video, where I fire some small animal figurines in a Weber grill on a New York City balcony!

This video shows the whole story – my successes and failures – as I attempt to fire ancient pottery in a portable charcoal grill.

I’ll be selling these animal figurines, made out of clay tempered with materials just like the ancients used to, inspired by the animal figurines found at Ain Ghazal, a Stone Age archaeological site on the border of Jordan and Palestine, and all proceeds will go to Gaza.

The pieces will be on sale in person in Brooklyn, NY, at Maison Clay, a pottery studio that I’m a member of, as part of the BCAT Brooklyn Ceramic Arts Tour, which showcases local potters every year, from May 30th to June 1st.
