With the AKB48 juggernaut expanding all over Asia and J-pop and K-pop joining forces with Produce 101/48, one question has to be asked: Can AKB48 be successful in Korea?

It’s a tough answer to answer, as AKB48 faces an incredible task in gaining fans in K-pop land. We’ll break down how the AKB48 Group works briefly, what Korean K-pop fans expect from their pop music, and AKB48’s chances of catching on in Korea. We’ll also talk about Produce 101, 48, the graduation system, and more.
