Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from an American Airlines flight from Miami to Los Angeles in November 2022 after flight attendants reported he was unresponsive, appeared to be in and out of consciousness, and refused to comply with instructions to buckle his seatbelt. Police were called, and after the captain ordered him off the plane, all passengers deplaned while officers escorted him out. Beckham stated he was sleeping and believed the situation was escalated by an "overzealous flight attendant".
