This video takes you inside a modern poultry processing facility to show exactly how broiler chickens are mass-produced from hatch to final packaged products. You’ll see each major stage of today’s industrial chicken system, beginning at the hatchery where thousands of chicks hatch at once, move across automated conveyors, receive fine-mist vaccinations, and are packed into ventilated crates for transport to large-scale farms.
At the broiler farm, chicks are placed on clean bedding with access to automatic water nipples, feeding trays, and powerful ventilation systems. Litter robots maintain floor quality while veterinarians monitor flock health. Once fully grown, broilers are loaded into transport modules and delivered to the processing plant.
The factory process starts with CO₂ controlled-atmosphere stunning, followed by hot-water scalding and mechanical defeathering. Automated evisceration equipment removes internal organs with precision, while cameras detect defects and washers clean both the inside and outside of each carcass. Birds then enter a massive air-chill tunnel to reach food-safe temperatures.
After chilling, chickens are graded, weighed, and either bagged whole or sent to cutting lines for deboning, trimming, and bone inspection. Value-added products are coated, IQF frozen, weighed, sealed, labeled, and palletized by robots for cold storage.
