Got hold of a Zoom H1 recording device, and mounted it in the tool compartment under the pillion seat, using a GoPro clip and curved base, with a hot shoe quick release mount.
Only a small treble filter applied to the audio, to attenuate a few of the harsh frequencies. Otherwise, no audio post-processing.
This makes a huge improvement over the horrible tinny-sounding camera mic, especially when the camera is stashed inside the waterproof case.
Settings on the Zoom:
Lo Cut - off
Auto level - off
Rec format - WAV
Recording level - 14
I put the Zoom inside a sock for good measure!
