The Hell Holes - Woodhead Railway Tunnels & Station to Hadfield - The Woodhead Route

The Woodhead Route is one of the most well known and most talked about railway lines in the United Kingdom. Featuring the most stunning scenary, remote locations and a few tunnels too!
Most notably the Woodhead Tunnels, 2 of which date back around 170 years, however the third a hundred years younger yet closed only 28 years after opening.

In this video i take a look at the route between the Woodhead Tunnels, how they are today and how they once served the railway and why a third one was constructed.
A little look at Woodhead Railway Station, before following the route past Woodhead Reservoir and onto Crowden and the former Station Site.

Then onto Torside, another reservoir and a lovely location that once had Torside Level Crossing.

A few archive photos and a couple of reservoirs later, we approach Hadfield Railway Station.
