The Tren Maya project is one of the most ambitious mega-constructions ever undertaken in Mexico. Built to connect key areas of the Yucatán Peninsula, it traverses tropical forests, archaeological sites and historical areas that bear witness to the greatness of the Mayan civilization.
With a length of more than 1,500 kilometers, the project required thousands of heavy equipment, the construction of hundreds of bridges and tunnels, and involved thousands of construction workers from all over the country.
