Esther Niwemahoro is a 24-year-old mother from the Rugarika Sector in Rwanda. After becoming pregnant at a young age while still in secondary school, Esther felt discouraged, isolated, and unsure of her future. With elderly parents living with disabilities and growing responsibilities at home, she believed her life and dreams were over.
Through the support of GIFTS Rwanda, Esther was given the opportunity to continue her education and learn tailoring through the new moms sewing program. Today, she is gaining valuable skills, rebuilding her confidence, and creating a path toward independence and stability for herself, her child, and her parents.
In this video, Esther shares her journey from isolation to hope and the impact that training, counseling, and community support have had on her life.
