📅 OCTOBER 2025 CONSTRUCTION STATUS REPORT

This video presents a comprehensive construction update as of October 2025 for The Jewel, a large-scale mixed-use development by Robinsons Land Corporation, strategically located at EDSA corner Pioneer Street, Mandaluyong City, Metro Manila.

🏙️ PROJECT OVERVIEW

The Jewel is a master-planned mixed-use complex designed to integrate:
🛍️ A multi-level retail mall podium
🏢 Several Grade A office towers
🚆 Direct connectivity to Boni MRT Station

The project is positioned as a transit-oriented development, maximizing accessibility along one of Metro Manila’s busiest corridors, EDSA.

Upon completion, it is expected to serve as a major commercial, business, and lifestyle destination in Mandaluyong City.

🏗️ CURRENT CONSTRUCTION PHASE

As of October 2025, the project has fully transitioned from substructure to superstructure construction.

Visual indicators on site confirm that:
⛏️ Major excavation works are complete
🧱 Basement retaining walls are fully formed
⬆️ Construction activity has shifted above ground level

This transition marks a significant milestone, as the most complex and high-risk excavation phase has been successfully concluded.

🏬 PODIUM STRUCTURAL DEVELOPMENT

The majority of on-site activity is concentrated on the podium structure, which will support the mall and shared facilities.

Observed construction works include:
🧱 Installation of reinforced concrete columns and shear walls
🪜 Extensive temporary shoring and scaffolding systems
🧩 Formwork panels arranged in repetitive slab grids
🔩 Continuous rebar installation and concrete pouring

Multiple podium slabs appear to be under construction at the same time, indicating a phased and overlapping slab-casting strategy. This method improves efficiency and allows vertical construction to proceed without delay once podium levels are completed.

🏢 OFFICE TOWER CORE CONSTRUCTION

One section of the site shows vertical structural elements rising higher than the podium, consistent with the core construction of the first office tower, commonly identified as the Asscher Tower.

The tower core is composed of thick reinforced concrete walls, designed to:

🛗 House elevators and vertical circulation systems
🚪 Contain emergency stairwells
⚙️ Accommodate mechanical and electrical shafts
🌬️ Provide resistance against wind and seismic loads

The emergence of the tower core is a critical step, as it enables the transition to systematic, repetitive floor plate construction, which typically accelerates the overall construction pace.

🚧 SITE EQUIPMENT AND LOGISTICS

The presence of multiple tower cranes across the site confirms that the project has entered a sustained vertical construction phase.

Tower cranes support:

🏗️ Lifting of formwork and reinforcement materials
🧱 Placement of structural components
🚛 Continuous movement of materials across podium and tower zones

Additionally, visible material staging areas include:

Bundled steel rebars
Stacked formwork systems
Temporary construction platforms

These elements indicate active daily construction operations rather than intermittent work.
