Narita International Airport (IATA: NRT, ICAO: RJAA), also known as Tokyo-Narita International Airport or simply Narita Airport, formerly and originally known as New Tokyo International Airport, is the secondary international airport serving the Greater Tokyo Area. The only other one being Haneda Airport (HND).

Narita Airport is located about 37 miles (60 kilometresi) east of central Tokyo in Narita, Chiba. At the time of this recording, the facility covered about 2,810 acres (1,137 hectares). The conceptualization of Narita International Airport has been highly controversial since its beginning in the 1970s and remains so to the present day, especially among local residents in the area.

Concerns about Narita led to the Sanrizuka Struggle, riots and protests that started in the late 1960s. Anger stemming from the government's decision to construct the airport without consulting most residents in the area, as well as expropriating their lands in the process.
