Could you live in Keystone Heights Florida? Keystone Heights is a small rural town in North Florida’s Clay County. The Keystone Heights area is zip code 32656. While the town geographically is small, the zip code goes out about 10 miles from the center in some directions.
I chose to use a tank in the thumbnail because in the Keystone Heights Area is Camp Blanding Military Reservation. The Camp Blanding Museum is free and open to the public. This area is full of active duty, retired and reservist that call this place home. It is also close to Jacksonville, Fl. which is home to Naval Air Station (NAS) Jacksonville and Naval Station Mayport. We love our service members.
Camp Blanding does training that will at times sound like thunder and rattle you house windows. At times you will hear gunfire. These noises are referred to as the sounds of freedom. There are some people that don’t like the noise, so for those folks the part of the Keystone Heights Area that is close to the base may not be for you.
The area has a lot of rural properties so if you are looking for acreage you can find it here. There are also traditional suburban lot sizes when you are closer to town. Since Keystone Heights is located in North Florida’s Lake Region there are many waterfront options for you. Yes there are alligators in the lakes as with most Florida freshwater. Most lakes are recreational so you can operate a motor boat.
Housing is anywhere from historic homes from the 1920’s to new construction. From single wide mobile homes to executive homes.
In this video I will show the parks in the area which includes a state park, city parks and county parks. I talk about the lakes and alligators. I take you for a drive around the business center and show a few local restaurants. I stop by the Keystone Heights Airport during an aerobatic show. A waterski team also practices in this area.
This town has one of the best, in my opinion, Ace Hardware stores around. There are a lot of independent small businesses. A new RV resort was added recently. This literally allows you to try the town before you move here. If not having a Publix, Walmart and a Home Depot around the corner is ok with you then you may be able to make Keystone Heights your home.
In North Florida and most defiantly in this area High School Friday Night Football is a big deal. The parades at Christmas time and the 4th of July just ad to the charm.
