15 Peaceful Cichlids... On a Scale of 1-5

Are there actually peaceful cichlids? In this video, I break down some of the most commonly recommended “peaceful” cichlid species using a simple 1–5 scale, ranging from overly polite to full Waffle House at 2 a.m. chaos. Peaceful means very different things depending on the fish, the tank, and the keeper. If you’re trying to choose cichlids that fit your setup, this video will help you understand what peaceful really looks like in the real world.

There was nowhere near enough time in this video to give a full care guide on each of these fish or groups of fish so please do your own research if you're looking at buying any of these fish. The Geophagus genus has quite a few fish in it and I didn't mention names of specific species. Tapajos or Pyrocephalus, Sveni, Altifrons, and Weinmilleri are all peaceful options but are slightly different in aggression depending on your setup so do some research on the specific species before buying.
