48 Hours on the Northwest Miramichi – Crawford’s Crown Reserve (Mid-June Flyfishing VLOG)
It’s been a while since I’ve produced anything, but this simple VLOG captures a quiet return to the river. A 48-hour excursion into Crawford’s Crown Reserve on the Northwest Miramichi—one of New Brunswick’s most scenic and storied waters.
The fishing was slow, as it has been the past few years, but the beauty and solitude of this place remain consistent. Like everything in nature, the Atlantic salmon run works in cycles, and we’re hopeful for a strong comeback. Until then, it’s the time spent—on the river, around the fire, and with good company—that makes the trip worth it every time.
Joined once again by my cousin Kurt Allen, Steve Gorman, and Pat Olsen, we shared laughs, a few beers, and even found a few small trout. And in one of those strange, only-in-Canada moments… we stumbled across Santa Claus himself—casting a fly in the heart of the Christmas Mountains.
