📖 2 Timothy 4:2 (KJV)
“Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.”
📖 Matthew 12:34 (KJV)
“O generation of vipers, how can ye, being evil, speak good things? for out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh.”
📖 Galatians 5:22–23 (KJV)
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.”
Matthew 10:14 (KJV)
“And whosoever shall not receive you, nor hear your words, when ye depart out of that house or city, shake off the dust of your feet.”
📖 2 Corinthians 10:4–5 (KJV)

📖 1. God allowed Balaam to go, but only speak His words
Numbers 22:20 (KJV)
“If the men come to call thee, rise up, and go… but yet the word which I shall say unto thee, that shalt thou do.”
God allowed Balaam to go with Balak’s men, but Balaam could ONLY say what God commanded.
Paul is saying:
A person can speak with power
Have great spiritual gifts
Sound eloquent, anointed, or impressive
BUT without love (charity), they are just noise.
“Sounding brass”
A loud metal instrument making harsh noise.
“Tinkling cymbal”
A clanging, empty, repetitive sound.
Meaning:
Someone who acts “spiritual” but doesn’t have love, humility, or godly character is just making noise.
There is no substance, no real power from God, and no true fruit.
1 Corinthians 13:1 (KJV)
“Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels,
and have not charity,
I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.”
Luke 17:21 (KJV)
“Neither shall they say, Lo here! or, lo there! for, behold, the kingdom of God is within you.”
Matthew 3:2 (KJV)
“And saying, Repent ye: for the kingdom of heaven is at hand.”

John 8:47 (KJV) — Because they are not of God
He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
✅ 1. Miriam and Aaron Oppose Moses
Numbers 12:1–15
What happened
Miriam and Aaron (Moses’ own siblings, both prophetic leaders) spoke against Moses because of jealousy.
They questioned Moses’ spiritual authority:
Hath the LORD indeed spoken only by Moses? hath he not spoken also by us?
God judged them because they were not aligned with His will.
God’s response
The Lord defended Moses.
Miriam was struck with leprosy.
This shows leaders must submit to God’s chosen order.
The Rebellion of Korah, Dathan, and Abiram
Numbers 16
Who they were
Korah — a Levite leader
Dathan & Abiram — princes of Israel
250 men — “famous in the congregation, men of renown, spiritual leaders
Their sin
They rebelled against Moses and Aaron.
They claimed a level of authority God did not give them.
They refused to accept God’s chosen order of leadership.
God’s response
The earth opened and swallowed them alive.
Fire from the Lord consumed the 250 offering strange fire.
Moses’ Disobedience at Meribah
Numbers 20:7–12
Who failed
Moses himself — the prophet of God.
What he did wrong
God told Moses: Speak to the rock.
Moses instead struck the rock in anger.
He misrepresented God’s character to the people.
Result
Moses was not allowed to enter the Promised Land.
Even great leaders can fall if they do not follow God’s exact instructions.
Balaam — a Prophet with a Wrong Heart
Numbers 22–24; 31:16
Who he was
A seer/prophet consulted by kings.
His sin
He tried to please both God and the wicked king Balak.
He wanted money and recognition more than obedience.
He taught Balak how to make Israel sin (Numbers 31:16).
God’s response
Balaam was eventually killed for leading Israel into temptation
2 Peter 2:15-16
King James Version
15 Which have forsaken the right way, and are gone astray, following the way of Balaam the son of Bosor, who loved the wages of unrighteousness;
16 But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet.
Galatians 4:16 (KJV)
Am I therefore become your enemy, because I tell you the truth?
Ecclesiastes 1:9 (KJV):
The thing that hath been, it is that which shall be; and that which is done is that which shall be done: and there is no new thing under the sun.
Luke 12:2–3 (KJV)
For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
