The Early Childhood Programme at The International School of Uganda offers a centre of excellence for learning. We believe that children develop as thinkers as they interact with a variety of stimulating materials and their environment. Teachers use the vehicle of play and the child’s natural curiosity to develop thinking and problem solving skills. Children are at the heart of our philosophy where children are empowered to make choices, ask questions, share ideas and help to drive their learning. Our purpose built learning environment has been designed by our teachers to create a variety of learning spaces to provide holistic development. Our programme draws from best practice from a variety of early childhood practitioners and educational researchers. The curriculum follows the International Baccalaureate (IB)Primary Years Programme which is grounded in the philosophy of inquiry and transdisciplinary learning.
