Karimunjawa island in Java looked like paradise from the moment we stepped off the ferry — palm-lined beaches, crystal waters, and the charm of a local water bungalow stay. But just when we thought we had found the perfect island life escape, we were hit with a travel twist we didn’t expect: there was no alcohol to be found. At all. No wine, no beer, not even a sad Bintang in sight. Well, eventually we did luckily find some.. but it was very hard!!
