This is part three of three (and last) video showing how I service my Oil burning AGA Deluxe.

Don't risk damaging your back trying to lift the Hot Plate out, it's too heavy at 45Kg and far to awkward, especially if your AGA is in a recess like mine.

I have been servicing my own AGA's since 1984 without much difficulty. It's a simple job, which needs doing about every 6 months, requiring few tools and takes about 1 hour to complete.
Always allow an overnight period for the AGA to cool sufficiently before attempting to work on it. Leave the hot plate lids up and the oven doors and burner door open to speed up the cooling time.
When re-lighting it make sure you are able to be present until it's up to working temperature again in case of any problems. Avoid lighting it and going to bed, just to be on the safe side.
Most AGA's have burners like mine but there may be some differences depending on the age of the conversion.

REMEMBER. You MUST check for oil leaks after a service. You MUST NOT light it and go away. Preferably service it in the morning and DON'T leave it until you're satisfied it's up to temperature and running properly. If in doubt, don't do it yourself.
