The Chance Theater in Poughkeepsie, New York was an 18+ age venue - however, for this SLAYER show - they arranged to let in all ages. However, the underage audience was directed to the upstairs balcony only. (Since there was no alcohol or bar up there.) The crowd was extremely angry, as was the band, since the 200+ (18 and over crowd) was allowed downstairs and the approx. 500+ people were contained strictly above. It was immediately noted by the band and Tom Araya who makes the war cry of "The balcony is fucked..." during the bridge of Chemical Warfare. They still played a good show. Also noting, that this was a one-off headline show - as a break from the poorly mismatched bill of the W.A.S.P. / Raven / Slayer tour which was briefly on the road for about 6 weeks. Ex-Whiplash drummer Tony Scaglione temporarily replaced Dave Lombardo who was on sabbatical and returned in April of '87. A short but powerful performance - SLAYER in their prime. R.I.P. (until their reunion tour...)
