This is a Motormouth couple car review of the updated 2022 Porsche Macan GTS high-performance luxury SUV. The GTS turns up the fun factor with a twin-turbocharged 2.9L V6 and a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, 434 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque. This GTS has the same engine that powered last year’s Turbo model giving it an extra 59 horsepower and 22 lb-ft of torque. Standard AWD and premium fuel is required. The GTS doesn’t disappoint, in my opinion, it is one of the best high-performance crossovers available. It’s responsive and engaging but also practical, you get the versatility of a crossover with the performance of a sports car. It comes standard with adaptive air suspension and Porsche active suspension with available Porsche torque vectoring plus and the sport chrono package. Standard exterior features include, high gloss black accents, summer tires with 21” RS Spyder wheels, red brake calipers, LED headlights with Porsche dynamic light system and a 19” collapsible spare tire. Our test model has the available carbon fibre side-blades and 21” black GT design wheels. The interior of the Porsche macan has some big changes, the hard buttons are replaced by touch capacitive buttons on a piano black trimmed centre console and a new sport steering wheel. These changes bring the design up to par with other Porsche models. The Porsche Macan GTS comes standard with a 10.9” touchscreen, a 4.8” instrument cluster, wireless Apple Carplay, Android Auto is not available, a GTS leather package with Race-Tex in black, heated steering wheel, power tailgate and heated 8-way power GTS sport seats, available 14 and 18-way power seats. Our test Macan GTS model in black and Bordeaux red leather has some extra features including, ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, 14-way power seats, a panoramic sunroof and the 14-speaker Bose surround sound system. There is an available Burmester system with a total output of over 1,000 watts and 16 individually controlled loudspeakers. Most features can be added as a la carte items or they are part of a package, you can build this Macan GTS exactly the way you want it, you just have to spend more.
