This is a simple DIY project: making wooden soap dishes with hand tools. It involves little sawing, planning, in combination with basic joinery. I used scraps of hardwood and sized the dishes based on personal preference. My finish of choice is water-based varnish, followed by beeswax.
Materials:
first model: one piece (owk) 300 x 40 x 18 and 6 dowel rods (beech) 120 x 10
second model: one piece (beech) 450 x 40 x 15 resulting in two 130 x 40 x 15 and two 80 x 40 x 15, 2 support pieces (beech) 130 x 10 x 6
Tools:
set of chisels
mallet
clamps
tenon saw
smoothing plane
marking knife
mechanical pencil
tape measure / ruler
combination square / try square
dovetail template / sliding bevel
sharpening stones (diamonds 400+1000, leather honing strop)
drill machine / brace
shooting board
