This is video #762 of my video posting project. I have been working on this project since November 2023--learning and posting a video of NEW piano music every. single. day!

Today's piece is "The Shaker Song" by Jay Beckenstein. This arrangement can be found in Hal Leonard's collection of Jazz Piano Solos in the volume called "Best Smooth Jazz". This collection of jazz arrangements was written by Brent Edstrom.

Before I clued in about the title, I could actually hear the Latin rhythm section playing along with me!! I wonder if there's a word for that when you can imagine how something sounds. I like this "smooth jazz" piece -- it combines my favourites: smooth, relaxing jazz with Latin rhythms. Fun song.

Side note: Universal decided to go after one of my videos and put a copyright strike on my channel. So I'm a little sad--and also looking into alternatives for posting videos. I have been doing this for a number of years, and this is the first time that I've attracted the attention of a copyright holder--most artists allow this sort of use (for educational purposes) to be allowed. If they decide to go after more of my videos, my years of hard work are going to go up in smoke. Let me know if there are alternatives out there!!

And if I disappear, I'll be out there somewhere playing this stuff for myself and anybody who cares to find me. Possibly a website or alternate sharing site...?? I'll keep you posted....
