Beneath the waters off Alexandria, at the foot of Fort Qait Bay, lie the remains of one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World : the Lighthouse of Alexandria.
At a depth of eight meters, archaeologists led by Jean-Yves Empereur, from the French Institute of Oriental Archaeology, are conducting one of the most remarkable underwater excavations ever undertaken.
Massive columns, sphinxes, colossal statues, fragments of a vanished world scattered across the seabed, slowly reveal the secrets of the legendary lighthouse that once guided ancient sailors.
Between scientific discovery and human adventure, this film immerses us in an extraordinary archaeological quest where legend meets history.
