De Haan is a charming coastal town in Belgium, located along the North Sea in the province of West Flanders. It’s famous for:
,,Belle Époque" architecture – the town has preserved many ornate, early 20th-century villas.
Wide sandy beaches – ideal for swimming, sunbathing, and long walks.
A relaxed, small-town atmosphere – much quieter than larger Belgian seaside resorts like Ostend or Blankenberge.
Cycling and walking trails – De Haan is surrounded by dunes and nature reserves.
Historical note – Albert Einstein briefly lived there in 1933 after fleeing Nazi Germany.
It’s considered one of the prettiest and most peaceful spots on the Belgian coast.
