After being forced to take lessons from the age of five, Gibson turned his talents toward rock music in the late 60s, starting as a session musician for famed producer Quarter Brown. "He always had this kind of droopy-eyed look on his face," Brown said on the red carpet of the 1979 Grammys. "He isn't much for partying, mingling, get-togethers, nights out, nights in, or conversations...and I wouldn't call the kid an optimist. But behind that piano he says everything he needs to say and that's fine by me. He also isn't particularly hung up on any sort of traditions or dress codes so we work well together."
