Christmas Eve Mass 2025 | The Nativity of the Lord | Cardinal McElroy | Cathedral of St. Matthew, DC

The Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Washington invites you to join us via Livestream as Robert Cardinal McElroy, Archbishop of Washington, celebrates the Vigil Mass for The Nativity of the Lord on Christmas Eve (Wednesday, December 24, 2025) from The Cathedral of St. Matthew the Apostle in NW Washington, DC, United States of America.

A festive musical prelude will lead off the night's events at 9:15 PM EST, brought to you by the Cathedral's Schola Cantorum contemporary choir, who will be accompanied by a String Quartet!

Then, directly before the Mass, Cardinal McElroy will perform a Blessing of the Manger Scene within the Cathedral, as we celebrate the birth of our Lord, Jesus Christ!

The Mass itself will begin at 10:00 PM EST. Cardinal McElroy will be the Celebrant and Homilist for this Solemn Christmas Mass, with Rev. Msgr. Ronald Jameson acting as Concelebrant. This Mass is a bilingual Mass in English and Spanish.
