“It is hard to articulate
in words what it feels
like going blind & deaf
with RP Usher Syndrome.
The terror.
The fear.
The stress and constant
inner war inside.
Stepping into the
silence and darkness
one step at a time.
Grabbing every last
glimpse I can get.
You leave behind
the sound and vision
of life and the world.
It is a living hell.
I don’t recommend it.
I did my best
to do something good with it.
Who will judge?
Mostly I feel pain.
Covered with a smile.
Occasionally feel beauty.
The beauty is what
I capture for you.
It is a lonely world to live in.
Soldier on I do.
But I share my glimpses with you.
See the symbols
See the veins and
rhythm of life before you.
The glimpses I see.
The glimpses I saw.”
