Tuscany in a Vintage Alfa Romeo | Castelfalfi, Truffle Hunting & Firenze Elegance

This trip was exactly how I picture la dolce vita:
We picked up a vintage Alfa Romeo Duetto just outside of Florence and hit the road toward the rolling Tuscan hills. To me, the perfect road trip means one thing — a convertible, a scenic route, and no rush. The Duetto delivered on all fronts, with every curve of the road feeling like a scene from an old Italian film.

Our destination: Castelfalfi, a luxury resort built inside a renovated medieval castle and village. Once a forgotten fortress from the 8th century, today it’s a fully restored estate with eco-conscious design, its own vineyards, and the kind of views you want to frame forever.

We stayed for three days and did it all — spa mornings, lazy afternoons by the infinity pool, gym sessions overlooking olive trees, and one of the most unforgettable experiences yet: a truffle hunt with dogs, right in the heart of Tuscany. Bucket list = checked.

What really stayed with me was the attention to detail throughout the property. The interiors mixed timeless Tuscan architecture with a surprising twist of Asia — serene, minimal, and deeply intentional. Unexpected, but somehow so right.

After Castelfalfi, we returned to Florence and spent two nights at Portrait Firenze, part of the Lungarno Collection by Ferragamo. The location? Unbeatable, right next to Ponte Vecchio. The design? Chic, modern elegance with subtle nods to Italian fashion heritage. It felt personal, private, and beautifully curated — the kind of place where every object tells a story.
