How to Install a Livewell Aerator Timer and 3 Position Rocker Switch!

As part of our fish care series in 2022, today's video will cover how to install a livewell aerator timer and 3 position rocker switch! In a previous video, we did a full aerator replacement installation and installed a brand new, more powerful aerator as well as a new strainer on the intake. However a big issue was that my livewell system had no timer system for water circulation and oxygenation, or any of recirculation system installed. It was very important that this critical component be added at the very least to ensure fish in the livewell were well cared for all day long.

This also meant that we would have to re-wire the boat so that we could run the pump fulltime (for filling the livewell) or via the timer, so the standard 2 position rocker switch had to be replaced with a 3 position rocker switch. I decided on the US made Flow-Rite Protimer series and went with a high quality 3 position rocker switch from Gamma. (See below for links to these products)

The wiring itself wasn't too complicated, and I give a detailed walk-through of how to wire up the rocker switch and show you an easy way to test a switch if you're not sure on where to put the wires.
