Notes from Jonathan Kreisberg:
"For folks that are familiar with my jazz career, this album will sound like a bit of a departure…but let me bring you to a galaxy long ago and far away…Miami, 1995.
At the time I was leading a bit of a double life. On some days I was studying jazz (and having some great opportunities to play with legendary South Florida players such as Pete Minger, Ira Sullivan, Steve Bagby, Gary Campbell as well as the great Michael Brecker when he visited U. of Miam.) ….But on the other nights, I was in the rock clubs. In 1994 I formed a band with some incredible musicians. It began with John Roggie on Keyboards, Javier Carrion on Bass, and Vince Verderame on Drums. We then searched for a singer with a strong sound that could handle the intricate melodies we were working with and we were lucky to find Dean Madonia to fit the bill.
We sought to combine the raw power of rock with the sophisticated harmonies and rhythms from our collective jazz and classical backgrounds to create something new. I think we found a very special sound that was quite ahead of it’s time (1994!) We had some really great moments working out this music (all the players contributed to the various layers of composition, lyrics, production etc.) and played some very fun shows including opening for Steve Vai, Yngwie Malmsteen and other Rock legends.
I soon thereafter moved to NYC to pursue my passion for acoustic Jazz, but I am so happy to have this document of my time with these KILLERS in Miami. I hope that you enjoy THIRD WISH. "
