Now we are reimagining "Viva La Vida" originally by Coldplay
An epic song by the legendary Coldplay. Song about a king (or someone with powers) who lost all his power and tries to accept it. At first, it seems like this song is based on a historical figure. As there are some historical notes mentioned, like the Jerusalem bell and the Roman cavalry. But Chris Martin said that it's not specifically a story of a historical figure. Rather just an allegory of someone who regrets his arrogance and embraces his fall.
For my cover, of course, I wanted to make an epic orchestral arrangement. But then there are already tons of them. The next choice is to make a bardcore. There are some bardcore covers. All of them are instrumental. But if i wanted to make it with lyrics, I have to translate it into an ancient language to have the immersion. Lol.
If in doubt, I always have a bias towards jazz. Idk most songs are good in jazz. The original song is very upbeat, almost like a military march song. Kinda ironic considering the lyric. So I have to make the song sound relatively sad. The jazz subgenre I chose is old school 30s/40's jazz. So the result is like a song of a 30s mafia boss who's lost his crime empire.
