𝗟𝗔𝗣𝗗 𝗦𝗧𝗘𝗣𝗦 𝗜𝗡: Tent and E-Bike Removed from Venice Beach Skate Dance Plaza in Homeless Sweep

VENICE, CA — Friday, August 8, 2025 — A coordinated multi-agency cleanup operation was conducted Friday morning at Venice Beach Roller Skate Dance Plaza, as part of the City of Los Angeles' ongoing efforts to improve sanitation, safety, and public accessibility along the coastline.

Led by Los Angeles Park Rangers in collaboration with Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) LA County Beaches and Harbors, the Department of Public Works, and Clean Harbors Environmental Services, the enforcement targeted a homeless encampment occupying the beach path near the Venice Beach Roller Skate Dance Plaza.

Park Rangers instructed an individuals sheltering beneath a makeshift canopy to vacate the area and advised that any items left behind would be removed, in accordance with Los Angeles Municipal Code Section 63.44(b), which prohibits unauthorized lodging and personal property attachment in beach and park zones.

The individuals complied, gathering what belongings he could before leaving. Sanitation crews then dismantled the encampment and cleared the remaining debris.

Advance notice of the cleanup had been posted prior to enforcement, and items left on site were collected per established city procedures. Outreach teams from the Los Angeles Homeless Services Authority (LAHSA) were present to offer support services, including hygiene kits, food, clothing, and bottled water. Representatives from Councilwoman Traci Park’s office monitored the operation to ensure compliance and coordination among agencies.

No arrests or citations were reported.

City officials maintain that such operations are part of a broader dual-track approach aimed at maintaining public order while connecting unhoused individuals with available support systems.
