How Much Slower is Fist Drill than Swimming?

This video came out of question on the Slowtwitch Forum (Link below) about how much slower is a swimmer doing fist drill than swimming. I hadn't really thought of the question before since usually when you are doing "pure" drill work you aren't thinking about speed. The focus is on the best execution of the movement as possible.
The biggest difference I felt between fist drill and swimming was the perceived level of exertion since I wasn't able to grab as much water. That meant I had to engage the core a lot more to hold my position and stabilize my body in the water.
