Mellat Park or Bostan Mellat, formerly known as Bostan Shahnashahi, is one of the best parks in Tehran, and according to a survey by the Hamshahri Media Research and Studies Center, it is the first park that the residents of the capital introduce to a non-Tehran guest. This park was built in the time of Pahlavi II and by order of Farah Pahlavi and Mohammad Reza Aghajani in a barren land. The construction of this park started in 1345 in two phases.

The first phase of Mellat Park, which is located parallel to Valiasr Street (AJ), was called the roadside boulevard, and a part of it was expanded into a part of the sidewalk that was put into operation in 1347. The second phase of Mellat Park was also completed in 2013, which includes two hilly sections, namely afforestation on the side of the Broadcasting Organization and lawn and flower planting on the side of Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani highway (Niyaish) and Seoul Street.

Mellat Park is one of the largest parks in the capital, with an area of 34 hectares. About 23 hectares of it are dedicated to lawn cultivation, 3.2 hectares to forestry and two hectares to flower cultivation. This park was designed irregularly and in the style of English parks by a person named Posen.

The northern part of Tehran's Mellat Park is mostly afforested and the southern part is grassed. The dominant vegetation of Mellat Park consists of trees such as cedars, poplars, sycamores, elms, acacias, cypresses, Tabrizi, sparrow's tongue, badagh, yucca, purple, bergamot, taron, boxwood and seasonal seedlings. There are about 120 species of trees, shrubs and fruit trees in this park, including apples, apricots, peaches, berries, bananas, persimmons and figs.

Maple trees, tabrizi, poplar, sepidar, sycamore, acacia, cypress, fan cypress, silver Christmas tree, Candila pine, lace, purple, beer screw, khatmi, Shirvani jasmine, orange boxwood, pomegranate and formal boxwood and other trees, create a pleasant view. They gave a gift to this park. Perennial and permanent flowers such as Rana, Galania, Dahlia, Geranium and Cordeopis and all kinds of miniature roses, cuttings, grafted, seven colors, fawn and Sanaz, have doubled the beauty of Mellat Park.

This park is bounded from the north by Jam Jam Street and the central building of Sedavasima, from the south by Ayatollah Hashemi Rafsanjani Street (Niyaish), from the east by Waliasr Street (Aj) and from the west by Seoul Street (Revolution Club).

پارک ملت یا بوستان ملت که در گذشته بوستان شاهنشاهی نام داشت، یکی از بهترین پارک های تهران است که بر اساس نظرسنجی مرکز تحقیقات و مطالعات رسانه‌ای همشهری، نخستین بوستانی است که اهالی پایتخت به یک میهمان غیر تهرانی معرفی می‌کنند. این پارک در زمان پهلوی دوم و به دستور فرح پهلوی و محمدرضا آقاجانی در زمینی بایر احداث شد. ساخت این پارک از سال ۱۳۴۵ در طی دو فاز آغاز شد.

فاز اول پارک ملت که به موازات خیابان ولیعصر (عج) قرار دارد، به بلوار کنار جاده موسوم بوده است و بخشی از آن نیز در قطعه‌ای از پیاده‌رو گسترده شده که در سال ۱۳۴۷ به بهره‌برداری رسید. فاز دوم پارک ملت نیز در در سال ۱۳۵۳ به پایان رسید که شامل دو بخش تپه‌ای یعنی جنگل‌کاری‌های سمت سازمان صداوسیما و چمن‌کاری و گل‌کاری‌های سمت بزرگراه آیت‌الله هاشمی رفسنجانی (نیایش) و خیابان سئول است.

پارک ملت یکی از بوستان‌های بزرگ پایتخت است که مساحت آن به ۳۴ هکتار می‌رسد. حدود ۲۳ هکتار از آن به چمن‌کاری، ۳٫۲ هکتار آن به جنگل‌کاری و دو هکتار به گل کاری اختصاص یافته است. این پارک به‌صورت نامنظم و به سبک پارک‌های انگلیسی توسط شخصی به نام پوسن (Posen) طراحی شده است.

قسمت شمالی پارک ملت تهران بیشتر جنگل‌کاری و قسمت جنوبی چمن‌کاری شده است‌. پوشش گیاهی غالب پارک ملت را درختانی چون سدروس، صنوبر، چنار، نارون، اقاقیا، بیدمجنون، انواع سرو، تبریزی، زبان گنجشک، بداغ، یوکا، ارغوان، برگ بو، ترون، شمشاد و نشاهای فصلی تشکیل می‌دهند. در این پارک حدود ۱۲۰ گونه درخت و درختچه و درخت میوه از جمله سیب‌، زردآلو، هلو، توت‌، به‌، موز، خرمالو و انجیر وجود دارد.

درختان افرا، تبریزی‌، صنوبر، سپیدار، چنار، اقاقیا، سرو، سرو بادبزنی‌، نوئل نقره‌ای‌،کاج کاندیلا، توری‌، ارغوان، پیچ آبجویی‌، ختمی‌، یاس شیروانی‌، شمشاد پرتقالی‌، شمشاد اناری و رسمی و درختان دیگر، چشم‌انداز دل‌انگیزی را به این پارک هدیه داده‌اند. گل‌های چند ساله و دائمی مانند رعنا، گالانیا، کوکب‌، شمعدانی و کردئوپیس و انواع رزهای مینیاتوری‌، قلمه‌ای‌، پیوندی‌، هفت‌رنگ‌، حنایی و ساناز، زیبایی پارک ملت را دو چندان کرده‌اند.

این پارک از شمال به خیابان جام جم و ساختمان مرکزی صداوسیما، از جنوب به خیابان آیت‌الله هاشمی رفسنجانی (نیایش)، از شرق به خیابان ولیعصر (عج) و از غرب به خیابان سئول (باشگاه انقلاب) محدود می‌شود.
