A first-generation student at NMSU, Mariah Leonard is on a determined path to shape her own future. Majoring in biology and minoring in sociology and psychology, she aspires to become a neuroscience researcher, driven by her personal connection to neurodegenerative disease. Mariah’s future goals include applying for graduate school and establishing her own research lab. Outside of academics, she is a member of the Pride Folklórico, a passion that has helped Mariah feel encouraged to embrace and share her culture with others.
