My first play in the P&H Volan was just fun all the way, around 5 miles out then back again off Downderry. On the flat it has plenty of glide, heading into a bit of chop it behaves impeccably and keeps a good pace going, downwind it is quick, picks up rides with little effort and is ridiculously responsive doing exactly what you would expect from control input. I would have liked a bit more sea but it was enough to get the feel of the kayak and imagine what it is capable of in decent conditions. 5 stars from me.
