I raise my blade and push my sister back
I count them slowly forming their attack

They circle tighter, ready for the kill
My heartbeat thunders, time is standing still
I brace myself, I steady for the fight
Then suddenly—

Pure white light explodes through every stone!
The creatures scream in agony and pain!
I grab her hand and run, we're not alone!
Whatever saved us, we can't explain!
The monsters scatter, shrieking at the glow!
We race through passages, we have to go!
Our feet are flying, faster, faster still!
We see the exit opening ahead!

We escaped what's lurking in the blackness
Lurking in that cursed cave
We survived what's lurking in the madness
Lurking where the lost souls stay
We can see it! We can make it!
Sunlight breaking through the stone!
No more shadows in the darkness
We're going home... we're going home!

We stumble out into the mountain air
The eastern valley opens up below
A little village resting over there
The cave behind us, we made it through
My sister's crying, laughing, holding tight
We're alive because of that strange light
