Meet the newest arrival at the Cleveland Metroparks Zoo — a precious eastern black rhino calf born on September 13, 2025! 🦏💚

At just four weeks old, this energetic baby boy stays close to his mom Kibibbi, who’s showing all the right instincts once again. In this video, you’ll see the little one exploring his indoor habitat, practicing tiny charges, and occasionally stopping for a comforting nuzzle from mom.

You’ll also spot Dalia, Kibibbi’s first daughter; Azizi, Kibibbi’s sister; and Forrest, the proud father of both Dalia and the new baby boy. Together, they represent an important success story for this critically endangered species.
Eastern black rhinos once roamed across much of Africa, but fewer than 600 remain in the wild today. Every new birth is a victory for conservation — and this one is especially exciting for Cleveland!
