Everyone Thinks Highguard is Concord 2.0 and DOA at Launch

Highguard is giving off serious Concord 2.0 vibes. Big reveal. Big publisher push. And almost no organic excitement. In this opinion piece, I break down why Highguard already feels dead on arrival before it even launches, from the lack of clear identity to the muted player response and marketing misfires. This isn’t about dunking on developers. It’s about patterns we’ve seen before in live service shooters that launch to indifference, struggle to find an audience, and fade fast. If Highguard doesn’t course correct, this could be another cautionary tale for the genre.
