On September 13th and 14th, 2025, the Western Maryland Scenic Railroad hosted their Railfest event in Cumberland, Maryland. I was fortunate enough to catch their articulated 2-6-6-2 steamer, 1309, on Sunday during the Helmstetters Highball trains. These trains traveled a few miles down the tracks to the famous Helmstetters Curve before stopping and returning back to Cumberland with B32-8 number 561 leading the return trip in its new, fresh paint. Enjoy as 1309 works hard through the Maryland countryside!
