Our customer, a producer of fresh-cut fruits and vegetables, needed to palletize product coming from multiple lines at a high level. The catch was they wanted to palletize and discharge at floor level due to limited space requirements. Our solution was our Robotic Case Palletizer designed specifically with their requirements in mind.
In this application, we mounted the palletizers at their infeed height then allowed enough reach to properly palletize their product. Due to the multiple lines, we incorporated a transfer car. Once a full pallet is built, the transfer car picks up an empty pallet and shuttles it over to the line where it simultaneously trades the empty pallet for the full pallet. This is accomplished through the use of double-deck pallet conveyors. The full pallet is quickly shuttled over to the discharge conveyor where it is discharged to be prepared for shipping. A top hold-down mechanism is incorporated into the transfer car to ensure a safe transfer of the full pallet at the speed it travels.
