2 lbs chicken (cut into pieces)
1 lime or 2 tbsp vinegar (for cleaning chicken)
2 tbsp browning sauce (or 1 tbsp brown sugar for caramelizing)

1 tsp smoked paprika
1 bell pepper (sliced)
2 sprigs thyme (or 1 tsp dried)
2 scallions (chopped)
1 tsp allspice (optional)
1 scotch bonnet pepper (whole or chopped, optional for heat)
1 tbsp soy sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 tbsp oil
1/2 cup water or chicken broth
