Supergirl Ripping Off the Superman Mythos Is a Bunch of BS

DISCLAIMER: Because several people have brought this up and I didn't address it in the video... yes, there is a Bizarro-Girl character in the comics (and the question of whether or not that is just a derivative copy of the male version is a discussion for another time). I simply didn't feel like that's what the show intended this to be.

If the writers wanted to do Bizarro-Girl, that's what they should have called her IMO. Or if they had made her Power Girl or Galatea, that would have been fine. But the fact is they chose to do simply "Bizarro," which is a name most people are going to associate with the Superman villain.

They had to know it was going to come off like they were gender-swapping the Superman villain, so why do that when they could have made an effort to present the villain as something that is traditionally associated with Supergirl? Because the writers would rather take the character from Superman and give Supergirl ownership of it, which, even just 12 episodes in, the show already has a history of doing. If you disagree, that's okay, but this is how I see it.

DISCLAIMER #2: Sorry this one took me so long. I had some trouble getting the script right and it ended up a lot longer than I expected, so editing took a while. It seems like every time I tell myself that I need to make these reviews shorter, they end up getting longer and more elaborate.

See if you can spot the sequence I had to re-edit four times to get the claim on this video removed.

AND ANOTHER THING: Even Alex's half-assed explanation for how she was able to arrest Lord makes no sense. She says she's acting on behalf of an extra-legal organization, which means that Lord has no rights. But according to Henshaw, the DEO didn't have the right to arrest Lord, but they did it anyway, so the whole thing is a confusing mess!
