"Nothing But You" explores the treasure of recently discovered footage of my father's family (the Haverlys) from 1942-1977 in Green Island, New York. As I looked through the extensive footage, I was overcome with emotion to see so many family members I had never met or even seen photos of smiling, laughing, and connecting. It was truly profound. 

This video is largely an homage to my grandfather and father, both named Ferd Haverly. I wish I could have met my grandpa - I heard he was a warm and loving man, a great fiddler/violinist, and a very generous doctor in his community. I love seeing him laugh, smile, hold his grandchildren with such love and tenderness and emit a warmth that is undeniable in these clips.

It felt important to share this footage in a raw and unvarnished way. I wanted it to feel like we were in a living room together watching these videos with a projector on the wall. So there is no color correction, stabilization etc. I wanted to try and tell a story with what was, maybe like my four track recorder in the 90s - no effects! I am beyond grateful to my cousin Mike for digitizing this footage. My hope above all is that this video is a gift to my family, to celebrate our history and be like a live photo album we can visit from time to time, but even better.
