EUROPEAN RAILWAYS of the 2010s
ITALY
Part 1 of 2
Settebagni (Rome) + Rome Termini (Italy FS) September 2011
Stazione di Settebagni + Stazione di Roma Termini
On my Summer Holidays in 2011 accompanied by my grown up offspring, we stayed about 10 miles to the North pf the Metropolitan City Rome, also the Capital of this lovely country. The Italian Railway system (FS) is quite magnificent, and offers a high quality form of comfortable travel. The "Eurostar" trains come in several forms and speed the length of most of the country, with some rather luxurious passenger expresses to many parts. Rome is very well connected to many places and has an excellent metro and local rail network. The city itself has a great Tram system, which I have included a small clip in this two part feature. This first part starts with scenes from Settebagni, a town around 10 miles from Rome and on the route to Firenze, during the week we were there and then the very busy and good variety of traction, seen from Rome Termini Station, mainly Electric Locomotive "Push/Pull" and High Speed Long distance trains in the form of the Italian "Eurostar". The second part of this feature will focus on some of the stations very close to the city of Rome, which covers a wide diversity of trains. I do hope this video entertains and evokes old fond memories of the European Railway Scene of the era. I hope you enjoy the series, and if you are familiar with the areas featured, feel free to comment and if you do like the clip please subscribe and Like.
